During the construction of Build-To-Order (BTO) projects in Tengah, Obayashi collaborated with HDB to pilot innovative technologies on site, paving the way for broader adoption in future developments. To enhance productivity while reducing reliance on labour-intensive tasks, the Autonomous Tower Crane System was deployed alongside Skyjuster® to automate and optimise lifting operations. This integration improves precision by accurately positioning precast elements before installation, while also enhancing site safety by minimising the need for manual guidance.
We are excited to participate in the UTM Career Fair this year, marking our very first time taking part in the event. Together with our young engineers and quantity surveyors, we shared insights into the diverse opportunities within the built environment industry and experiences working in the field. It was truly encouraging to connect with so many passionate and driven students. We look forward to seeing the next generation of talent bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the industry.
BCA and GeoSS jointly organised a study trip to Chinese Taipei in collaboration with the Chinese Taipei Geotechnical Society, aimed at exploring innovative, safe, and sustainable construction technologies to support Singapore’s built environment transformation efforts. Obayashi Corporation was pleased to support this initiative by sending a delegate to participate in the one-day workshop, “Overcoming Challenges in Infrastructure Projects,” held on 13 April 2026, where Mr. Ryukichi ITO from the Taoyuan MRT Green Line Contract GC03 shared key project challenges.
