The biennial SGBC-BCA Leadership in Sustainability Awards, jointly organised by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), is one of the built environment sector’s leading platforms for recognising outstanding achievements in sustainability. The 2026 edition received 107 nominations across various award categories, with 24 winners honoured for their contributions to advancing sustainable practices in the industry.
The awards are presented across three main categories: Professionals, Businesses, and Building Projects. The Building Projects category recognises exemplary green building developments that demonstrate strong sustainability performance and contribute to raising standards across the built environment.
We are pleased to share that Keppel South Central has been named one of the winners under the Building Projects – Urban Renewal category.
Replacing two conventional office buildings, Keppel South Central has been redeveloped into a Super Low Energy development that enhances land use efficiency, environmental performance, and urban vibrancy.
The development also incorporates sky terraces, privately owned public spaces, communal areas, biophilic design, and access to greenery, encouraging interaction, inclusivity, and a better user experience. By integrating sustainability, technology, and human-centric design, Keppel South Central demonstrates how strategic redevelopment can reduce lifecycle carbon emissions while serving as a replicable model for the transformation of mature CBD precincts.
Obayashi Singapore is proud to have contributed to the successful delivery of this landmark project and to be part of its journey towards greater sustainability in the built environment.
