Obayashi’s annual HR Forum brings together HR representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas, experiences and best practices. The forum provides a platform to strengthen regional collaboration, share practical insights and explore how HR can continue to support our people and business in an evolving workforce landscape.

This year’s forum included a session by Marsh on current compensation and benefits trends. With participants joining from different countries, the discussion explored compensation practices across markets and industries, highlighting the importance of balancing local market conditions with broader regional trends. Participants also exchanged views on developing compensation strategies that reflect the value and demand of different roles while considering market competitiveness, internal equity and employee retention.

Another key topic was the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recruitment. The session explored how AI can support areas such as candidate sourcing, screening, interview scheduling and recruitment analytics. As our businesses and projects continue to grow, technology can help HR teams improve efficiency and streamline recruitment while maintaining a positive candidate experience and making effective hiring decisions.

Beyond the formal sessions, participants shared HR practices, challenges and experiences from their respective countries, creating opportunities for cross-country learning and the exchange of practical approaches to common workforce issues.

Through continued learning, open discussion and regional collaboration, the Obayashi Group aims to strengthen its people capabilities and support sustainable growth across Asia-Pacific. Together, we are working towards a stronger, more agile and future-ready workforce.
