On 17 July 2026, Obayashi Singapore Private Limited was invited to speak at NUS CESE Camp 2026, themed “Odyssey” on Day 2 of the camp held at NUS Kent Ridge Campus.
Our team, represented by Assistant Project Manager Tai Zi Yi, engaged with over 25 incoming NUS Civil Engineering freshmen ahead of their first year of study this August. The room was anything but quiet — students filled the session with non-stop chatter and genuinely curious questions about the Built Environment sector, from what drew them to civil engineering to what a main contractor actually does day-to-day.
Sharing real project experiences and witnessing that curiosity develop into genuine interest in the profession is always rewarding. Moments like these reaffirm the value of engaging early with the next generation of engineers — today’s questions often become tomorrow’s site decisions.
