At SCAL’s Annual Dinner on 31 October, Keppel South Central received the SCAL Productivity & Innovation Award (Gold). This award, now in its ninth year, recognises efforts to boost productivity through innovation – a key driver for competitiveness in the construction sector.
Our team from OBAYASHI SINGAPORE PRIVATE LIMITED impressed the judges with a solution using a prefabricated steel collar which acted as a permanent formwork system to overcome challenges in conventional column-beam joint construction. Before introduction of this solution, the process is labour intensive, time-consuming and subject to intense coordination. By implementing this system, the team managed to shave the floor cycle schedule from 7 days to 5.5 days.
